PSYC 305 Problem Solving and Decision Making

The objective of this course is to improve people's ability to solve problems and make decisions using psychological material discussed in class. Students will learn to improve their practical problem solving skills by learning to recognize and overcome conceptual blocks to problem solving. Topics to be covered include creativity, methods of problem solving, memory aids, decision-making tools, avoiding biases of judgment, etc. Students will be given assignments revolving around practical problems and decisions (e.g., how to improve time management).
