CE 319 Traffic Engineering

Travel time, delay, speed and volume studies. Capacity of freeways, expressways, urban streets, arterials and intersections. Pedestrian, parking and accident studies. Traffic markings, signs, signals both pretimed and actuated, and progression. Geometric design of urban arterials and intersections. Students are required to submit functional plans for design projects assigned by the instructor. Emphasis on intersection, interchange, and expressway design. Computer applications. Written communication skills are required.
