Factors affecting design of pavements: loads, climate, and environment; stresses in flexible and rigid pavements; properties of pavement components; materials characterization; soil stabilization; theory and design of flexible and rigid pavements for highways and airports; pavement evaluation and rehabilitation. Oral and written communication skills are required.
