ENGR 111 Code Green

"Code Green: A Python and AI Approach to Studying Climate Change" offers an interdisciplinary exploration of climate change through the lens of data science. The course is structured into four modules, each addressing a key aspect of climate science and its analysis using Python: introduction to climate change principles, global temperature trends, and climate systems; climate data sources, formats, essentials of climate modeling, and introduction to the Climate Model Intercomparison Project; impacts of climate change, sea-level rise, extreme weather events, and their effects on ecosystems and human societies; mitigation and adaptation strategies, renewable energy, carbon capture, afforestation, and policy frameworks. In each module students learn and apply Python and AI skills to develop data-driven projects on climate change solutions. Students learn to analyze and visualize climate data, gaining practical experience in applying technology to environmental research.
