HIST 220 Historical Research and History Careers

This course introduces history majors to the goals, methods, and practices of historical scholarship and helps them explore and plan for career and graduate school options.  Students will learn about historiography, historical research methods, writing practices including Chicago-style citation, oral presentation techniques, and basics of statistical analysis and presentation.  Students will practice these skills as they define a research topic, complete a short research paper, and deliver an oral presentation of their research at the annual CBU History Conference.  History majors must complete this course with a minimum of a “C.”
