MATH 162 Health Science Applications of Algebra and Statistics

The course uses models appropriate to the health sciences to motivate the study of algebra and statistics. Topics are chosen from algebraic expressions, symbol manipulation, linear and quadratic equations, descriptive statistics, exploratory data analysis, the normal distribution, functions, graphs, and linear, polynomial, rational, exponential, and logarithmic models. The course stresses interpretation of the mathematical model in its diverse applications.
