NPMG 350 Non-Profit Governance

Students will understand the relationship between volunteer boards and the non-profit organization, its staff and its functions. The course will address relevant questions in board development. A distinction will be made between governance and management. Topics addressed will include: the role of board members in developing and upholding bylaws, assisting in fundraising, serving on committees, accountability, and the interaction between staff and board members. Students will prepare description of governance processes for the organization related to the project.
