Graduate Admissions Policies - Degree Seeking Status (MAT, MBA, MSCS, MSDS, MSEL, MSEM, and MSCMHC)

Please note that the standards represented here are the minimum standards for admission into the Graduate School. Each program has additional requirements that must be met beyond the requirements listed here. Frequently, the program requirements are more strenuous than the basic requirements for Graduate School admission. Please review the chart in the next section to learn more about each degree program's specific requirements. This list is not exhaustive, and we reserve the right to change these admissions requirements as needed to reflect the needs of the CBU community.

Applicants for admission to a graduate program at Christian Brothers University should demonstrate a high promise of success and should submit:

  1. A bachelor's degree or its equivalent from a regionally/nationally accredited American or international college or university. Each applicant is admitted on the presumption that a bachelor's degree or its equivalent will be earned by the time of graduate matriculation, or the student's admission is void.
  2. One official transcript* of previous academic credits from each of the colleges or universities previously attended. Transcripts from non-U.S. institutions must be evaluated by a current member of the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES). Applicants should request a course-by-course or detailed evaluation.
  3. Two letters of recommendation from former teachers or immediate supervisors qualified to attest to the applicant's preparation for and ability to do graduate study; or, in the case of a licensure candidate, those who can attest to the individual's capacity to become a teacher.
  4. A completed Graduate School Application Form with application fee.
  5. (International Applicants Only) Proof of English proficiency is required if English is not the applicant's native language. Proof of English proficiency may be demonstrated by means of the Test of English as Foreign Language (TOEFL), International English Language Testing System (IELTS), Duolingo English Test, Pearson Test for English (PTE) and in some cases the Cambridge C1 Advanced (CAE) or Cambridge C2 Proficiency (CPE).
