HIST 354 Manhood and Womanhood in Modern America

Explores the cultural construction and contestation of gender and sexuality norms from the 1820s to the present. This course will articulate the connections between the lives of different socio-economic groups of men and women, while giving particular attention to gendered power dynamics in politics, war, work, leisure, family, and religion.
