CMHC 616 Sexuality and Counseling
This course provides an in-depth exploration of human sexuality within a counseling framework, integrating contemporary theories, empirical research, and clinical practice. Students will examine the complex interplay between sexual identity, behavior, and cultural context, while addressing issues such as sexual health, sexual dysfunction, and trauma. Emphasis is placed on developing culturally competent, ethical, and inclusive counseling practices that meet the diverse needs of clients. Through lectures, case studies, experiential exercises, and reflective discussions, students will enhance their ability to assess and intervene effectively in issues related to sexuality.
