ART 310 Introduction to Printmaking
An introduction to the concepts, techniques, and processes of printmaking as a studio art practice. Students investigate foundational printmaking methods such as relief, intaglio, and monotype processes through hands-on studio production. Emphasis is placed on composition, image development, technical proficiency, craftsmanship, and the exploration of repetition, layering, and editioning within contemporary and historical contexts. Instruction includes demonstrations, critiques, discussions, and independent studio work designed to develop visual literacy, critical thinking, and creative problem-solving skills.
