EDDL 638 Using Applied Behavior Analysis to Create Successful Learning Environments

Candidates will learn the principles of behavior analysis and how to apply them to managing classroom behavior in the following ways: selecting and writing behavioral goals and objectives, collecting data on the seven dimensions of behavior, applying procedures for reducing maladaptive behavior and increasing appropriate behavior, teaching useful target skills, and understanding the functions of behavior in order to complete a functional behavior assessment and behavior intervention plan. Candidates will also learn positive behavior support strategies as they relate to class-wide and school-wide behavior intervention programs.
