Accreditation and Recognition

Christian Brothers University is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges to award the associate’s degree, bachelor’s degree, and the master’s degree. Christian Brothers University is a member of the National Catholic Educational Association and the Tennessee Association of Colleges. Current programs are approved for training using veteran benefits. Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering are accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (111 Market Place, Suite 1050; Baltimore, MD 21202-4012; telephone number 410-347-7700). The University is accredited by the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education and approved by the State Department of Education of Tennessee as a Teacher Training Institution. Christian Brothers University is in full compliance with Title II Teacher Education Report Card reporting mandates. The CBU Nursing Program is fully accredited by the TN Board of Nursing.

The baccalaureate degree program in nursing at Christian Brothers University is accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (http://www.ccneaccreditation.org).
