ART 102 2-D Design
An introduction to the fundamental elements and principles of two-dimensional design. Through studio investigations in drawing, mixed media, collage, and painting, students examine how line, shape, form, color, texture, value, and space function within visual composition. Emphasis is placed on visual problem-solving, conceptual development, craftsmanship, and the relationship between design and contemporary visual culture. Course activities include demonstrations, critiques, discussions, and hands-on studio experimentation intended to develop perceptual awareness and foundational skills for further study in art and design.
