ART 111 Drawing I
An introduction to the fundamental concepts, techniques, and materials of drawing. Students develop observational and technical skills through the study of composition, line, value, perspective, proportion, spatial relationships, and the visual elements and principles of design. Studio projects emphasize perceptual awareness, creative problem-solving, and the development of visual communication skills using a variety of traditional drawing media. Instruction includes demonstrations, critiques, discussions, and studio practice designed to foster critical analysis and artistic growth.
