ART 470 Advanced Studio

An upper-division studio course emphasizing the development of an independent and cohesive body of work in preparation for the Senior BFA Exhibition and capstone experience. Through sustained studio practice, research-based inquiry, written reflection, artist statement development, critiques, and interdisciplinary exploration, students refine technical proficiency, conceptual clarity, and professional presentation strategies within their chosen area of emphasis. The course focuses on the integration of studio practice, critical analysis, and written communication while advancing individual artistic direction, visual literacy, and portfolio development consistent with program learning outcomes and expectations for advanced study in the visual arts.
