MPAS 600 Orientation to Medical History & Physical Examination

This course orients students to the basic mechanics of the medical history, physical examination, and medical documentation of care. Students will learn the proper use of medical equipment, how to take vitals, how to conduct a medical interview, how to perform a comprehensive complete physical examination, and how to record information in a variety of clinical settings and situations, as well as interpersonal and communication skills, through a series of lectures, labs, and group activities. This course will amalgamate and continue into the system-based courses throughout the didactic phase of the program, as appropriate, to build on the basic skills learned in this course.
