HIST 306 Rock 'n' Roll History of Great Britain

This course examines the connections between British society and the innovative rock music it spawned from the 1950s to the 1990s. Following the lead of the music, the course focuses on themes that were of particular interest to the youthful generations: education, sex, equality, national identity, drugs, Americanization, violence, and technology. The course explores these topics by looking at the relevant changes that occurred in British society and how rock music reflected, commented upon, or protested against them.
