HIST 376 Mexico, Central America, and the Caribbean

A political, military, and cultural history of three important regions of Latin America. This course will examine the course and impact of European conquest, the role of colonial institutions, and independence movements. The greatest attention will be paid to twentieth-century events and trends, in order to analyze their influence on contemporary societies in these areas.
