PSYC 372 Psychophysiology

Psychophysiology is the study of the body to infer psychological states and processes. Things like heart rate, muscle activity, electrodermal activity (sweat), and even brain activity can tell us a great deal about people's thoughts and feelings-including many cases when they are not even aware of them. Methods covered in this course are used in such fields as forensics, marketing, medicine, audiology and speech language pathology, sport psychology, neuroscience, and many others. The basic skills learned in this course will generalize to many different applications. A substantial part of the course will be devoted to completion of an original research project.
