ENG 441 Shakespeare

An in-depth study of Shakespeare’s plays, investigating both their historical and cultural context as well as their afterlives in print and performance. In this course, we will read Shakespeare’s comedies, tragedies, and histories and explore both the major critical questions about and the most prevalent themes in Shakespeare’s work, including justice and power, religion, love, and identity.
